Fashion Details:
Hello friends! How do you know fall is close? When you get your first PSL! And also when you all you can think about is your new women’s cashmere sweater!
There’s a first for everything and this year I’m buying my first women’s cashmere sweater. It sounds crazy but I have never owned a cashmere sweater. It’s similar to the time I bought my first pair of distressed denim. I ended up loving them and creating a guide on how to buy the perfect pair.
The main reason I never owned a women’s cashmere sweater is the cost. Cashmere is a luxury item and it’s pretty expensive. I just couldn’t imagine paying that much money for one sweater. A jacket or even jeans I could rationalize the cost, but a sweater, I just couldn’t.
Lucky for me and you, it’s 2019 and they now make affordable cashmere. I’m talking under $100 affordable. That is something I can truly get behind.
If you’ve been around often you know that Everlane is one of my favorite brands. Not only do I love their simplistic style, I love everything they stand behind, such as transparency of pricing. On their site they break down the cost of each item from what it takes to make it to the mark up.
For example, their women’s cashmere sweater, which is $100 breaks down as follows:
Their cashmere comes in v-neck and a crew neck styles. I personally love a v-neck sweater because you can wear it so many ways and shape the piece to fit your style.
Having cashmere that is affordable and approachable is what every woman needs in her life. While there are plenty of options for cashmere in this price point, I gravitate toward the Everlane cashmere for a few reasons.
Fit – Their style is slightly longer in length
Feel – You don’t have to sacrifice the soft touch of this cashmere because of the price
Style – They have v-neck and crew neck options in over 18 colors
How I Style A Cashmere Sweater
Formal
When I think of formal, I think of office attire. Cashmere is great in the office. You can wear it under a jacket with a dainty necklace or a strand of pearls. You can also wear it alone with pants or a skirt. For pants I pair it with a skinny ankle pant like these and a heel. Wear a tall skinny heel to channel your best power look.
Preppy
Prep up that cashmere sweater and layer it with a collared shirt. To take it super preppy pair it with a blue , plaid or denim collared shirt. This is my go to denim shirt. Cuff the sleeves up once to have the collared shirt exposed. Finish off the outfit with straight leg denim (like this pair) and a classic pair of loafers. I love these Gucci look alike loafers.
Casual
Weekends were made for cashmere! Dress it down a bit while still looking super polished. Throw on your best distressed denim (I’ve been eyeing this pair for a while now) and street shoes (like my Eccos, they are so comfy) and knock around town. I love the way dressing down the cashmere sweater still makes you look and feel amazing!
