Wear Anywhere Outfit

While packing for our recent trip to Marco Island I rediscovered my favorite wear anywhere outfit of all time.  It’s an outfit I turn to when I feel that I have nothing to wear and an outfit I just love to wear.  The look is compiled of key pieces in my closet that I’ve had for years.  It’s a style I wear to work (when I go to the office), working from home, and on the weekends.

The style is super simple and it’s a no nonsense formula, with lots of options.  Drum roll please…  

Sweater Blazer + Button Down + Denim + Shoes

There you have it, my new favorite wear anywhere outfit.  Now let’s explore each component.

Sweater Blazer

The anchor piece of this outfit is one of my favorite items in my closet, the Sweater Blazer.  I own it in khaki and black and wear it all the time.  However my favorite is the khaki color sweater blazer.  It’s timeless and looks super polished.  I wear it as my outfit or use it as a lightweight jacket in the spring and fall.

It’s the perfect travel sweater too.  I planned all of my outfits for our recent trip around the sweater blazer.  It’s great for layering whether it’s over a top, a dress, or a sweater.  You can truly build your outfit around the sweater blazer.

Button Down

The button down is making a huge comeback in my wardrobe.  It might be that I’ve gotten a little older and truly appreciate what a classic staple it is.  I prefer a relaxed button down that isn’t super stiff.  They are great for layering and can be worn in all seasons.  You can see how I styled it for summer here.  Unfortunately the shirt I’m wearing is currently sold out, but you can find a similar version here.

Denim

I’ve been on the search for the perfect pair of jeans.  I’ve worn holes in my Everlane jeans because I wear them all day everyday.  I love the look and price point of the Everlane jeans, they are under $70, and you just can’t beat that.  However, I wanted to switch things up and went looking for a new pair.

I found this amazing pair from Good American.  O.M.G they are fabulous!  They are super soft, like butter, high waisted and have zero gap in back.  They literally fit like a glove and nicely fit in the curve of your back to create zero gap.  The length is pretty good too.  I’m 5’9 and they hit right at my ankle.  

Shoes

I almost always wear a bootie in the fall, winter or spring.  However I will also pair it with a ballet flat, like my Day Gloves and a pointy toe flat like these leopard flats.  On casual days when I know I’ll be walking a ton I will slip on my sneakers.  You can literally wear any shoe with this outfit, which is why I love it so much.
