Fashion Details:
April showers bring…Trench Coats! Trench coat season is here and I’m living it up with an outside of the box trench coat. I’m a huge believer in buying classic items that you can have for years to come, but once in a while a non-classic color comes around that I just have to have. When buying a trench coat, sticking with a neutral color is best, like black or khaki. But this year I needed something a bit more unique.
So when I saw this green balsam trench coat I knew it was something I had to have. The color isn’t over the top loud, but it’s a great change of pace from a traditional black or khaki color. It’s a great mix of blue and green and is muted enough, but still has a fresh spring look about it. I tend to wear very neutral pieces, like my tops and jeans so adding in a fun color trench really steps up my outfit.
Unique Trench Coat For Spring
I’m currently wearing this around town, however, it would be an ideal work coat. I commute about 30 minutes to and from work on foot. Being dressed for the weather with great outerwear is a focus for me. I want to look completely put together even when walking on my commute. The reason I love this unique trench coat so much is because you can wear it in the spring and fall. So when I fall in love with it in the spring, I get to re-wear it come fall. It’s just as exciting to get out of the closet and it feels like new once all that time has passed.
What I Love About This Unique Trench Coat
- How perfectly it drapes when left open
- The long belt – it’s so long that you can tie it and still have slack left over
- Exaggerated collar – it’s bold
- Lightweight material that is breathable which is great for varying spring temps
- Overall lengthen – I’m 5’9 and it’s a great length
- Huge pockets to store my stuff and Lizzie’s
- Oversized – but if you size down it will be more fitted
If green isn’t for you, this trench comes in black too!
