My favorite day of the week is Sunday. It’s one of the slowest days of the week in my house. And while it marks the end of the previous week it also marks the start of a new week. Prior to this year it was just another day that blended together with the rest of the week. But in 2021 we are making a conscious effort to have a beautiful Sunday.
Sunday Breakfast Idea
Sunday’s in our house start early so we can get a jump on the day. While Mike is up at the crack of dawn, literally, I like to get up around 6am, or try to. I’ve turned into a bit of a frat boy lately and have trouble getting up in the morning. But I love to be ready to go before Lizzie gets up around 7:30am. She loves her sleep too.
Once I’m ready to go I have a cup of tea and prep for our big breakfast. I have to give all the credit to Mike, though. He cooks a big breakfast for us and it is always delicious. While he has been playing around with different egg creations he recently had a Sunday breakfast idea with this Blueberry French Toast. It’s an overnight casserole which I love because you can do all the work the night before and enjoy the morning without a huge mess to clean up in the kitchen.
We usually eat around 8am, relax a bit and then out the door to head to church at 10am. After church we head to a local playground so Lizzie can burn off all the pent up energy from church. We head back home for lunch and then nap time. Lizzie loves her sleep and so do I, so I might sneak in a nap too! It’s the perfect Sunday!
Blueberry French Toast
Here is a great Sunday breakfast idea. This is not my own recipe, I found it online, but I had to share it with you! You can find the recipe here. The blueberry sauce is super sweet, so go easy on adding it to the top of the french toast. I suggested letting everyone put their own sauce on their individual piece.
