The Best Sandals For Summer

The dog days of summer are here.  It’s been 90+ for 10 days in a row in Chicago and I’m loving it!  Hot summer days means fun sandals!  And I’m all about sandals this year.  I usually get a new pair of sandals every summer, but this year i’m living in sandals.  For me comfort is king.  I walk everywhere and chase after Lizzie all day long.  My feet have to be comfortable.  Style comes second, things change, style used to come first for me, but times have changed.

Today I’m sharing my favorite sandals for summer and highlighting some of the best trends out there.

Slides

One trend I can’t get enough of right now is a slide sandal.  For the longest time I was a flip flop type of gal.  I had to feel the shoes in between my toes in order to make sure they were on my feet.  However I recently got the Everlane Day Cross Sandal, which is a slide and I fell in love!  Now all I want are slide sandals.

Bright Colors

It’s summer and having a brightly colored sandal is perfect for hot summer days.  I have a pair of orange sandals I picked up in Greece four years ago and they are still my favorite shoe.  I’m going to be very sad when they break 🙁 Bright colors I love for summer are yellow, orange and red.

Neutral Tone

Complete opposite from the bright colors are neutral tones.  I’m not just talking about white, tans and blush colors, I’m also talking about animal prints.  Leopard is the new neutral color.  You can see why I think it’s the new neutral in this post here.  Neutral tones go with just about everything!
