Hello ladies! Can you believe it’s the end of June already? Where did the month go? With about an official week of Summer under our belts, it’s a great time to talk about essential Summer purses. And it happens to be what I’m currently loving right now! In terms of purses, I use my black tote year round for work. But in the Summer I like to switch it up with a fun, cute purse. I prefer to use clutches or cross body bags in the Summer, keeping it simple and light is key in the hot Summer months.
The crossbody bag is perfect for the day. I keep my haul smaller and pare down to just the essentials and go with the bare minimum. I do this for a couple reasons. First, you just don’t need that much when it’s 90 degrees outside. And second, the lighter the bag the less I sweat. No one wants to walk around with 10 extra pounds on their shoulder.
The clutch purse is perfect for the evening. I love a clutch, as it dresses up any look and adds a touch of sophistication to any outfit. They tend to be on the smaller side (unless you opt for an oversized version) so you don’t need to pack that much with you. And your phone, money/credit cards and lipgloss will last you all night in the Summer.
I recently picked up this colorful over-sized clutch as my summer bag and I can’t get enough of it. Because even though the bag is bright and loud, it goes with anything. And I love the contrast you get when you pair it with all black. I’ll even admit I used it in the Spring when it was still cold because it was that cute! It’s over-sized which lets it hold a scarf for those chilly nights. The inside features credit card slots which is great for leaving the wallet at home and just taking your ID, credit card and a little cash with you.

The IT bag of last Summer is making another appearance this year and the name says it all. The Cult Gaia Mini ARK Bag is all over the place the year, yet not overplayed. The birdcage piece is so stunning it speaks for itself. I’d wear this bag with a sleek black outfit and let it speak for itself.
Say “Hello Vacation” with this straw pom pom bag. It reminds me of the beach and warm nights sipping cocktails ocean side. God I need a beach vacation soon! I love that this bag can take you from day to night. Paired with a white tee and jean shorts in the day and a little sundress at night. You’ll only need to pack one purse on your next trip!
Coming in under $100, this Madewell Crossbody Bag is a top choice for a Summer purse. It looks rich and feels lushious. There are multiple colors to choose from, but since its for the Summer I would opt for a linen or white color.

Camera bags were huge last fall and the trends is continuing into the Summer. The square shape of this bag makes its a favorite amongst its lovers. You can fit a full size wallet, a large sunglass case and your essentials like your cell phone, make up to touch up and a thin scarf. It’s compact, but packs a lot of punch!
I’ve saved the best for last, a cross-body bag and a clutch, all in one! The Holly & Tanager Max Companion is a bag that every girl needs.
