Summer Dresses For Everyday

I’ve made it my life’s mission to find the best summer dresses for everyday wear this year.  I alternate from a shorts and a top kind of gal to a dress gal.  And this year I’m all about the dresses.  Long dresses, short dresses, any kind of dresses.  I tend to love black dresses, but I’ve been trying to break out of that and incorporate more color into my life.  I’ve also been obsessed with bold patterns.  

 

This Dress started the obsession this spring and I can’t stop myself.  So every night I search the internet for the best summer dresses for everyday I can find.  Let’s just say my doorman knows I’m getting a package every day at this point. However, not all the dresses are winners.  There are some losers that come in.  But I love the hunt and I love finding the best dresses around.  

 

Summer Dresses For Everyday

Last year my dress obsession appeared pretty late in the summer and I picked up a few at Target, which usually has some great ones.  However, I started my search early this year and went back to basics.  The LOFT, Ann Taylor and Everlane came through in a big way.  And newcomers Talbots, Boden and Hill House have found a place in my heart.  As you can see I don’t have a go-to for dresses, but I know what I like and will search high and low for it.  

 

And of course I will always, always share my best finds with you!  So here are the best summer dresses for everyday this season.  The price points are all over the place because I believe you should be open to spending money on a good summer dress.  While I like dresses to be under $100, I’m open to spending more on a dress that I love.  The prices of the dresses I love are a bit all over the place, however they always go on sale.  So keep it in your online cart and buy it when its on sale!  

 

LOFT Stripe Dress – $98

I bought this dress on a whim and ended up loving it.  It’s super lightweight and a little sheer, so get the appropriate under garments for this one.   I love the fun colors for summer and the tie waist.  I like having a defined waist in dresses as it slims me down.  This dress runs true to size, I’m wearing an 8.

 

Ann Taylor Strawberry Dress – $139

Strawberry fields forever!  I mean have you seen anything cutter than this print?  This dress is definitely flowly and loose.  I went with my true size, an 8, which fits my chest perfectly, but it’s pretty flowly.  If flowy dresses are your thing, this dress is for you.  At the time I launched this post the strawberry print is sold out, however they have a gorgeous blue color in the same dress. 

 

Everlane Eyelet Dress – $128

I’ve never met an eyelet pattern I didn’t like.  Eyelet patterned items are ultra feminine and a great cooling print for summer.  The tiny holes allow the breeze to come through.  This Everlane Eyelet Dress runs big so I would size down at least one size, maybe two.  I’m wearing a small and it’s still a generous fit.  I love that it’s loose and girly.

 

Everlane Luxe Cotton Tie Dress – $79

Looking for a soft classic t-shirt dress, well here it is!   The fabric is super soft and comfy on the skin.  I love that this dress has a tie waist.  Anytime you can create a defined waist in a dress it’s a good thing.  Size down in this dress as it runs large and you can cinch the waist.  I went with a small. 

 

Talbots Printed Dress – $60

Nap Dress – $125

Boden Midi Dress – $130

A new-to-me clothing brand is Boden.  I’ve received their catalog for years, but finally decided to buy something and I’m so glad I did.  This dress is ultra flattering. With a longer, looser sleeve, it is comfortable and classic.  The waist line has a loose fitting elastic band that creates a waist without being to tight.  And the bold pattern is adorable.
