Re-entry is here and I’m prepping my wardrobe for it, especially my work wardrobe. Companies are starting to head back to the office and I’m scheduled to go in September. While I have mixed emotions about it, I am THRILLED to be back in my work clothes! And specifically my clothes from M.M.LaFleur. Just wait till you see my post pandemic fashion!
M.M.LaFleur has always been a workwear favorite for me as they offer classic pieces with an updated modern style. And they are rewriting all the rules of fashion now, creating new post pandemic fashion rules! The transition back to normal is going to be anything but normal. The last 18 months taught us that we should get rid of the rigid conformity and outdated codes of conduct, especially those that didn’t serve us well. In other words out with the old and in with the new.
This applies to outdated routines, stressed sleep schedules and workwear rules of fashion! Throw out the old style book and read the rewrite from M.M.LaFleur! The new rules work for women who have an ever changing schedule and live a multi-faceted lifestyle. And of course they have a stellar selection of pieces that can support the new post pandemic fashion new rules.
Post Pandemic Fashion Rules with M.M.LaFleur
There are four basic fashion rules that are being rewritten by M.M.LaFleur, they are:
- Turtlenecks are frumpy
- Be wary of too much color
- Invest in a basic blazer
- Suits only belong in the courtroom
Keep reading to see how they are rewriting these rules and how best to style them!
Rule #1
The rule: Turtlenecks are frumpy.
The rewrite: Turtlenecks can go out on the town.
Turtlenecks are the new power piece! Nothing is more chic than a solid color turtleneck. Whether you are in the office or out on the town a turtleneck will have you feeling in charge and looking good. And M.M.LaFleur’s line of turtlenecks are reasonably priced and luxe looking and feeling. In fact they have a whole line of elevated basics including sleeveless and short sleeve tops.
Rule #2
The rule: Be wary of too much color.
The rewrite: A favorite color has no limits.
Hello 2021, the year of bold colors and fresh wardrobe staples. I am reemerging into normal life in a colorful way and you should too. From a gal who loves black Color is so refreshing and can brighten up your mood and demeanor. The Lara Dress is perfect to bring color into your life. Not only is the color stunning, the asymmetrical bottom is eye-catching and the dress is hip friendly.
Rule #3
The rule: Invest in a basic blazer.
The rewrite: Invest in a game-changing heirloom.
I love a good blazer, but an heirloom piece that is designed to be passed down from generation to generation takes it to the next level. I’ve been wearing pieces from M.M.LaFleur for years now and they outdid themselves with the Porter Jacket! From the ornate buttons to the decorative fringe details this jacket has major Jackie-O vibes and I’m here for it! If your looking for a shorter version of this check out the Jie Jacket, it’s equally as gorgeous!
Rule #4
The rule: Suits only belong in the courtroom.
The rewrite: It’s a crime to keep this suit from exploring it’s full potential.
I’ve always felt like a “business suit” is a thing of the past. Most business suits are thick, rigid, wrinkly and lack modern style. Good thing M.M.LaFleur created a modern suit that feels like athleisure, but looks professional. The suit has two pieces, the Colby Jogger and the Moreland Jacket. I usually wear this when traveling for work because it doesn’t wrinkle and looks so sharp in person. You can wear the pieces by themselves too, which is a huge bonus! I live in my Colby Joggers in the office, wearing them at least 3 times a week.
