The Must-Have Porter Jacket

I’m beyond excited for today’s post because I’m sharing my favorite new jacket that I’ve added to my wardrobe.  It’s the Porter Jacket from M.M.LaFleur (see it here) and it is a beauty!  Once in a while there is a piece of clothing that stops me in my tracks.  And it was literally love at first site with the Porter Jacket.  

I had it on my wishlist forever because when it initially launched it sold out instantly.  And I knew it was going to be a hot item that I just had to have.  Online it looked fabulous, but it is even better in person.  It’s more than a jacket, it’s an heirloom piece.  This is something you will pass down to the next generation. It has major Jackie-O vibes and I know it will stand the test of time. It is one of the pieces that M.M.LaFleur designed to rewrite the rules of fashion.

The Porter Jacket 

There are so many things I love about the Porter Jacket (link).  You can tell this jacket was thoughtfully made and well designed.  I was a little shocked by the texture of the jacket, because it feels more like a sweater than a stiff blazer.  The tweed material has a bit of stretch to it.  While I love the tweed material I also love the other features of this jacket.

• Fringe Detail – The woven fringe is gorgeous
• Longer Length in Body and Sleeves – I’m 5’9 so the longer length style works perfectly for me
• Ornate Buttons – The buttons are a masterpiece
• Pockets – Large pockets so I can keep my phone or business cards handy
• Traditional Collar – The collar stay downs and isn’t intrusive with your neck or hair
• Versatility – Work or weekend this jacket has you covered, you can wear it anywhere

Sizing and Fit 

The Porter Jacket (click here) runs in an XS to XL and the jacket is fitted, but has a little bit of stretch to it.  It’s a longer jacket though with a tailored fit.  I am wearing a medium and it’s fitted to my body.  While I can button it up, it does feel snug.  I would most likely wear it open anyway and I like the way the medium fits when open.  I would suggest getting your normal size in this jacket.
