It’s mini capsule wardrobe day on the blog! Yeah! I love to maximize pieces and get the most use out of them. However sometimes I have a one track mind and only wear a piece one way. Anyone else get stuck in this rut? So today I’m featuring one top worn three ways.
In 2020 I didn’t make any resolutions. Instead, I am going to make intentional choices which means everything is well thought out. That includes my clothes. I am known to impulse buy. You all do it, I know it. It’s the thrill of the purchase for me and less of if I need it or not.
So when I saw this black and white leopard print ruffle top I was buying it no matter what. I shopped a sale and it came to just under $50. That’s a lot for me for an impulse buy item. So I took it home and thought about it. I told myself that I would have to wear it at least 3 different ways in order to keep it.
So with 2020 being the year of intention I sat down and thought long and hard about it. And let me tell you something, a determined mind will find a way to do anything. So, I magically came up with three ways to wear this shirt. Which means I am keeping it!
I originally bought it to wear to work, however, I needed to take it a step further to really keep it. Because if you look in my closet I have a ton of blouses for work. I want to really get my use out of it. I came up with three distinct ways to wear this top. I’m styling this shirt for work, weekend and date night.
One Top 3 Ways – A Mini Capsule Wardrobe
Work
This blouse is classic and you can wear it with a pencil skirt for work. I tuck it in the skirt and put on my classic black heels. I’m ready to rock the office while looking stylish! You can also pair with classic black pants. I love these pants right now because they are like athleisure for the office.
Weekend
Now I didn’t buy this top thinking I would wear it on the weekend. But how adorable is it paired with the sweater blazer and white leather sneakers? Dressed up yet casual. I love it when worlds collide. My sweater blazer is 3 years old, but they are still selling it. It’s a staple in my closet.
Date Night
I’m not winning any awards for creativity on this look, but I love it. Skinny jeans and heels are my go to date night look. The ruffle on this blouse make it super feminine and fun. You can also pair it with a blazer. I would opt for the Going Out Blazer as it is fitted and collarless which makes it a bit more dressy than your average blazer.
There are certain items of clothing that you can not just get enough of, and finding different ways of pairing them up is the best way of utilising that item to the maximum. I really like how you have paired the top with the black skirt.
