It’s that time of year…it’s the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! As you may notice A LOT of people on social media are covering the sale. The key to navigating the opinions on social media is knowing who to trust. You can figure out very quickly who is shopping the sale for the love of clothes and who is shopping the sale to make money. It’s no surprise that bloggers make affiliate income off sales from their sites. However don’t get caught up in the hype, it’s just a sale after all.

My suggestion is to shop if you can and come prepared for the sale. This year they are making it very easy to be prepared for the sale. Nordstrom has already released the sale items and you will have the ability to make a wish list. You can reference this wishlist when the sale officially starts and this will help you remain focused.

What Is The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is an iconic sale because they release brand new fall clothing on sale. Clothing typically doesn’t go on sale until mid way to the end of the season. Snagging fresh clothing at a discount is a major win. Keep in mind that this sale launches early for Nordstrom card holders.

Important Dates For The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Here are all the important dates for the sale. Depending on your club status is when you get access to the sale. To check your club status you can login to your Nordstrom account. And don’t worry about missing out is you don’t have Icon status (I don’t), they do a great job at restocking popular items and throughout the entire sale. Here is a breakdown on when you can shop the sale.

July 3rd: Online preview for everyone! You can view items that will be part of the Anniversary Sale.

July 11th: Early Access for Icon Status Nordstrom Cardholders

12th July : Early Access for Ambassador Status Nordstrom Cardholders

July 13th: Early Access for Influencer Status Nordstrom Cardholders: If you have a Nordstrom Card, you can shop during this time! This is the ideal time to shop. Tons of items sell out during this time frame and not everything restocks unless there is a return somewhere in the system. If you don’t already have a Nordstrom Credit Card, you can sign up here! Right now, you can get a $60 bonus note that you can use during the sale if you make your first purchase the day you open your Nordstrom card.

July 17th: Nordstrom Sale open to the public!

August 6th: Last day to shop before prices go back to full price

How To Shop The Sale

I’ll be honest my first pass through of the sale was disappointing. I felt the selection was weak for women and kids. A lot of the brands I love to shop weren’t included in the sale this year, which is a bummer. I decided to take a break and re-shop the preview sale with a fresh approach. I looked for staple pieces that I needed for the fall and winter. Like lots of neutrals, cable knits and classic pieces that I can have for years to come. I managed to find a few things I didn’t necessarily need, but had to have, go figure.

I went ahead and created a wish list with all the items I wanted to buy. On the day I can access the sale I go to my wish list and add everything to my cart. It’s the easiest way to shop the sale and get everything you want.
