About six months ago I retired my diaper bag and opted for a small backpack to carry around essentials for my toddler, Lizzie. We officially moved out of the diaper, wipes and bottle stage and moved into the snacks, books and toys phase. I wanted to down size because a tiny human shouldn’t have a large backpack just to leave the house. Lizzie is potty trained and is pretty self sufficient so we can get around with less.
About the same time I started research new diaper bags for our baby, Maggie, who recently arrived. I didn’t have a long list of wants in my new diaper bag, but I did want something that was more modern and my style. Luckily I found it and made a major upgrade with it! I had been on the hunt for a more horizontal bag than my first diaper bag. I had a true backpack and while I loved the hands free component everything always fell to the bottom of the bag. If I had more real estate horizontally it would be easier to access everything. And the Emmy bag accomplished my goal, while having a super modern look. I would actually use this bag for work travel or a weekend trip, it’s that chic!
My modern diaper bag is made of vegan leather and very easy to clean and keep in great shape. The bag has multiple carrying options; satchel style, over the shoulder, as a backpack and hanging from the stroller. Having options with a diaper bag is key. Another reason I love this bag is Mike can carry it and not look funny. I’m not a huge fan of men carrying traditional diaper bags, it just bothers me. However this bag can be carried by a man perfectly. I also love the storage inside the bag, there are so many pockets! There are also a couple zipper pouches for my personal things. I have this bag fully stocked with items for an infant and toddler and feel prepared to leave my house.
