The MM LaFleur Fall Collection is here and its a beauty! So many of the pieces are closet staples that you can have for years. When it comes to building a wardrobe, the concept of cost per wear can transform how you approach shopping. It’s easy to be swayed by fast fashion’s lower price tags, but higher-end pieces often provide greater value in the long run. Cost per wear breaks down how much you truly spend on an item based on how often you wear it. For example, a $500 coat worn 100 times over a few seasons costs just $5 per wear—making it a smarter investment than a $50 coat you only wear five times.
Investing in timeless, high-quality pieces offers unmatched versatility. Think of classic items like a tailored blazer, a well-cut pair of jeans, or a cashmere sweater. These items transcend seasonal trends, allowing you to wear them for years and mix them in countless ways. A neutral-toned blazer can be worn over a dress for a business meeting, paired with jeans for a casual lunch, or layered over a turtleneck for cooler weather. These styling options make it easy to justify the higher initial cost because they work across different settings and seasons.
M.M. LaFleur Classic Workwear
This is why I turn to M.M. LaFleur year after year and season after season. Their pieces are high quality, classic and stand up to wear and wash. They recently launched their Fall Collection and it’s amazing. The pieces are so classic and perfect for multiple seasons. From the MM LaFleur Fall Collection I focused in on the following pieces;
All these pieces are classic and have the ability to be styled across multiple seasons. Making the cost per wear on these pieces low.
Seasonal Styles
With these three pieces it’s all about layering and building looks for each season.
Summer
Wear the Valencia Dress alone on hot summer days. Style it up with a great pair of heels and classic silver jewelry.
Fall
Layer up the Valencia Dress with the Elizabeth Turtleneck. This is a classic style that will never go out of style. It extends your dress into the fall season. For cooler fall days add tights.
Winter
Layers are key in the winter so adding the Jennimai Jardigan to the Valencia Dress and Elizabeth Turtleneck keeps you warm and stylish in the winter.
M.M. LaFleur Sizing Notes
The Valencia Dress – I have it in a 10, but could have gone down to an 8. I’m having it taken in a bit because the dress is so great. I would size down in this style.
The Jennimai Jardigan – I have it in a medium and it fits great. I’d most likely wear it open vs. buttoning it. Wearing it buttoned would make it appear snug, but wearing it open it looks perfectly tailored.
The Elizabeth Turtleneck – I have it in a large and enjoy the fit, which is more relaxed yet polished. If I wanted a tighter fit I could have sized down. I personally think the fabric leads to the top fitting more relaxed.
