Maternity fashion has come a long way. Even since I had Lizzie 3 years ago I’m amazed at how on-trend and functional maternity clothes are. Getting dressed while pregnant is a huge challenge for me, especially in the 2nd and 3rd trimester as nothing ever fits and outfit options start to get limited. My internal struggle is that I want to love what I wear, but I don’t want to spend a ton of money on clothes because it’s such a short period of time. So when I discovered Kindred Bravely I was excited as they have maternity and postpartum clothes that are stylish, functional and reasonably priced.

Kindred Bravely was founded by a woman who felt a need for a product in the marketplace. Deeanne Akerson founded the company based on a simple idea to find cute and comfy pajamas while nursing her one year old son. The brand has two goals: creating maternity and nursing clothes that are beautiful, useful, and comfortable, and building a community of moms who support and encourage each other on the motherhood journey.
The clothes speak for themselves. I love that they are not matronly and offer shape and style to my very pregnant body. They offer styles that work for pregnancy and postpartum to take you through all stages of your journey. And the fabrics are high quality and comfortable against your skin. The postpartum offerings are ideal for discreetly nursing.
Kindred Bravely Clothing
Kindred Bravely was kind enough to send over several pieces from their recent collection and I was pretty impressed with what I received. Out of the box the fabrics impressed me the most. They were soft, smooth and high quality. When I put them on I was even more impressed. They fit so nicely on my pregnant belly and were flattering. They didn’t hide my shape at all, rather they highlighted my shape and made me feel confident.
By far the pajamas were my favorite piece. I love matching pajamas and I’m not willing to sacrifice that while pregnant. The Bella Ribbed Maternity Pajama Set is ideal for a growing belly. The pants have a high waist panel that fits right up to your underbust and are unbelievably comfortable. I could live in these!
In terms of their maternity fashion sizing I would suggest purchasing your normal pre-pregnancy size. I ordered my normal size, a medium, in all the items and found that they fit perfectly. 2 – Classic Nursing and Maternity Turtleneck – Best for the first and second trimester and postpartum. I went with a medium and it offers great belly coverage for a beautiful silhouette.
3 – 2-in-1 Nursing and Maternity Knit Dress – Ideal for your entire pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. I went with a medium and love the fit. The top long sleeve portion is a separate piece so you can wear it sleeveless or with the long sleeves.
4 – Bamboo Maternity and Postpartum Joggers – The softest joggers I’ve felt in a while. These will work for all stages of pregnancy. The waistband is gentle on a growing belly. I have a medium and they fit nicely.
5 – Bamboo Nursing Hoodie – Super soft, cozy and sporty! Ideal for all pregnancy stages, but probably the most useful during postpartum if you are breastfeeding. I took my normal size, a medium and I enjoy the fit.
6 – Bamboo Nursing and Maternity Long Sleeve Top – Best for the first and second trimester and postpartum. Super soft material and great breast feeding access. I have my normal size, a medium.
7 – Bella Ribbed Maternity Pajama Set – The best maternity PJ set ever! These run true to size based off your pre-pregnancy size. I have a medium.
