Today’s post is all about hair. I’m a self proclaimed hair girl. It’s where I put my effort and spend the most money. I have very thick, wavy-ish hair that needs a lot of love and attention. Chicago is now home to the Madison Reed Color Bar and I stopped in for a complimentary gloss and blow out. The Color Reviving Gloss comes in various shades to match your hair color or a clear gloss. One thing to note is it does not provide grey coverage. It simply enhances your hair color (natural or color treated) and enhances the shine. The treatments lasts 6-8 shampoos and I could immediately tell a difference after my treatment.
What I truly loved about the Color Bar was the ability to see all their products in person. I’m the type of person that likes to touch and see everything and read the back of the box. They also offer mini consultations to guide you in the right direction for purchasing the correct product and color. This is such a great feature. I’ve been alone in the hair color aisle many times before not knowing what to do or purchase. Madison Reed takes away that fear and gives you salon quality hair at home.

Their online shop has everything you need for salon quality color at home. You can purchase your products and watch how-to videos to ensure you are applying the product correctly. Things to look out for in their shop are what type of products you are looking at, meaning semi-permanent, demi-permanent and permanent. I personally do not use permanent hair dye on my hair, I prefer a semi or demi permanent.
And I’m sure you are asking what is demi-permanent? Don’t worry, I didn’t know either. It’s still not permanent, but lasts longer than a semi permanent. So it can still wash out of your hair. This is probably my sweet spot for Madison Products.

- Color Therapy Mask is a great starter product.. I use it in place of a conditioner a couple times a week. It’s a color depositing masks that attaches to your hair and enhances the color. I use the Caffe color and I can attest that it will not stain your shower or skin at all.

Overall I think Madison Reed is a great company that empowers women to take beauty into their own hands. I love the guidance and education they offer for doing your hair color at home. They make it easy and accessible for anyone to have great color at home.
