How To Style a Silk Skirt

I’m getting back to basics today and sharing how to style a silk skirt three ways.  Silk in general has always been an intimidating fabric. It is scary because I think it’s so delicate that anything can ruin it and that it isn’t an easy fabric to wear.  However, I realize I am wrong as they now have washable silk. Silk is actually a beautiful fabric that you can incorporate into any wardrobe.  I’ve added this Silk Skirt to my wardrobe and I’m going to style it three ways for you!

Office

This silk skirt is ideal for the office when I want to look super polished without trying very hard.  Since it’s a patterned skirt I want my top to be more muted and let the skirt stand out. Pairing it with a simple black blouse or turtleneck is just want this skirt needs. I’ve gone with the same color family and paired it with a black block heel to balance out the delicate fabric of the skirt.

Weekend

For the weekend I’m going to dress this skirt down. Honestly speaking I will not wear this to the park with the kids, but I will wear this look if we are heading to brunch or even to church.  By adding a simple racerback tank and flat sandals or even a white sneaker I’m making this a casual look. I’ll admit it’s hard for me to get to used too the sneakers and skirt look, but I’m trying!

Night Out

Styling this for a night out means adding depth and layers to the look. I start with a black cami, which is my base layer that can be an outfit by itself. I then add a little jacket because I’m always cold at night.  And pair it with a nude braided heel and clutch to complete my look.
