Spring jackets are finally making their way to my wardrobe and I’m excited about it. Winter in Chicago is a lot like pregnancy, it lasts forever! I’m still not ruling out snow, but I am counting on being in a spring jacket very soon. My biggest obsession with spring jackets are green spring jackets. And green jackets in general, I love them!
I think the big draw for a green spring jacket is the versatility and actual color. I wear all black, all winter long and once spring comes I’m ready to add some color to my wardrobe. Last year I strayed a bit with a red field jacket. And while I will rotate that jacket in, I’m going back to my roots with a green spring jacket this year. I’ve actually had a Target green jacket for 10+ years and I’m going to part with it this year. It’s time to update and I’m ready to shop for new clothes post-pregnancy!
Green Spring Jackets
So what makes a great spring jacket? Here are my general guidelines:
- Lightweight twill material
- Anything labeled utility, which means lots of details like zippers, pockets and ties
- Flexible material that isn’t overly bulky
- Mid length is preferred, but I will find any reason to buy a short, medium and long jacket
- Pricepoint of $150 and under, I might splurge a little more if I LOVE the jacket though
Green Spring Jackets I Love
I’ve scoured the internet to find the best green spring jackets out there. Here are my favorites
And my top three favorites (in no particular order) are:
This jacket has deep rich colors that sets it apart from the others. The length is idea for a taller gal. It has all the bells and whistles like pockets, zippers and a cinchable waist. It’s bit of a splurge, but is typically on sale for 40% off.
I’ve always wanted a traditional raincoat, that looks rubbery and reminds me of a child’s raincoat. I love the light muted green color of this one and the fact that is has a hood.
Love the simplicity of this jacket. It’s the perfect go anywhere, do anything jacket. In addition, I love that the collar stands up and that the waist is cinchable. It really makes a casual jacket more tailored and polished.
