Benefits of Fresh Flowers at Home
I don’t think there is anyone out there who hasn’t had a hard day in the past 6 months. The world has completely changed and there are days when I don’t know if it will ever go back to the way it was. Lets face it, I miss my 2019 life!
One thing that has been getting me through 2020 is having fresh flowers in my home. In the summer months I always have fresh flowers as I pick them up on our weekend farmers market trips. In the fall I pick them up at Trader Joe’s. They always have a great seasonal selection of flowers at reasonable prices. And they have great winter plant options too.
I love picking up something to put in one of the many vases I’ve collected over the years. My most favorite vase is our wedding vase. I selected the Waterford Lismore Vase, the pattern is classic and I know I’ll have it forever to display in my home. I also have fun vases that I’ve picked up at West Elm and local flower shops over the years.
Best Vases For Your Home
Here are some of my current favorite vases for your home. A good vase should look good with flowers and and without. While I love having flowers in my home there are periods of time I don’t and the vases stand alone as pieces of art. Making sure they go with your home decor is important so you can use them year round.
The Benefits Of Fresh Flowers In Your Home
Reduce Stress
Flowers actually reduce stress in your life. The majority of us have some amount of stress in our lives and flowers can reduce that. Having flowers in your life connects you with nature and exposes you to being outside. Having flowers around can reduce your stress in no time.
Boost Your Mood
When have you looked at flowers and not had happy thoughts? Seeing flowers in your home brings a smile to your face. I know when I look at them it reminds me of what we were doing when I picked them up. Or if they are for a special occasion it always brings a smile to my face.
Freshen the Air
Fresh flowers smell amazing and bring life to a room. The most fragrant flowers in the world are Tuberose. OMG, they are strong and smell so good. What I love about these is a little goes a long way. You can have as little as three stems in your house and they will freshen up the room.
Help You Sleep
Indeed certain flowers help you sleep, like fresh lavender. Lavender works as an anxiolytic, which is an anxiety reliever as well as a sedative. It increases relaxation and calm and helps bring on sleep. Try keeping a small bud vase of lavender on your nightstand and see how it works.
They Keep The Air Clean
Let’s face it the air is dirty, even inside your home. Having fresh flowers in your home helps clean the toxins in the air.
