Fashion Details:
Summer is HERE! I’m looking forward to summer this year because we finally have outdoor space. We moved into our place at the end of the summer last year and didn’t have any outdoor furniture. So this year we are getting ready to spruce up our balcony. It’s still in the works, and I will share more later.
Getting ready for summer not only means getting the outdoor space ready, but it means getting my inside space ready too. Specifically my closet! I recently shared with you my summer capsule wardrobe and now I’m digging in deeper into a recent addition that I’m ecstatic about, the Everlane Jumpsuit.
Everlane recently launched their first line of jumpsuits and they are nothing short of amazing. The Everlane GoWeave Jumpsuit is the perfect beginner jumpsuit. It’s approachable, well made and reasonably priced. I’ve resisted the idea of a jumpsuit for a long time now, but I jumped in with the Everlane Jumpsuit and I’m so glad I did! Everlane got it 100% correct with the launch of their jumpsuits
If you don’t know much about Everlane here is the low down. Their brand is simple and to the point. They are focused on taking an ethical approach to clothing, designing quality pieces that will stand the test of time and are committed to radical transparency, which is my favorite part. Their prices are affordable and they list the entire cost to make the item along with the markup on each product page. It’s so refreshing to see a brand do this and not rip you off!

Versatility
Jumpsuits are so mainstream now, they are the new LBD. The Everlane jumpsuits are the perfect options for those new to jumpsuits. The style, cut and cost of their jumpsuits make them approachable for everyone. In addition, they are not overly trendy and feature a classic silhouette that work with many body types.
Have you ever heard you can dress it up or dress it down? Duh! Of course you have. That’s like the only thing bloggers say, right? Well for this jumpsuit I truly mean it. The jumpsuit looks just as cute with a flat pair of sandals as it does with heels for the evening.
For a casual look there are tons of options for styling this. Start by not wearing the tie around the waist. It loosens the jumpsuit and provides a laid back look. For shoes, go with a flat in a round toe or a sandal. I absolutely love the Day Glove! Check out why it’s the only flat you need in your closet in this post. For hot summer days go with the Day Cross Sandal. All the comforts of the Day Glove in a sandal….genius!
Take the jumpsuit into evening by adding the belt to create a defined waistline. The elegant v-neck of the GoWeave Essential Jumpsuit is the perfect detail for evening. It speaks for it itself by showing the right amount of skin. Throw on a pair of extra large stud earrings (I love this pair) and keep the rest of the jewelry minimal. For shoes I would wear an ankle strap heel with a block heel. This Sam Edelman pair is under $50 and comes in four colors, the pink and nude are my favorite.
Fit and Care
The reason why I haven’t bought a jumpsuit yet is because I didn’t want to take to the time to try one on. Furthermore, I have long legs and a short torso so fitting into a one-piece has always been a struggle for me. If it fits in the legs then it doesn’t fit in the torso. In addition, my rear end is a completely different size than my chest. Just like the majority of people out there.
The proportions on the Everlane jumpsuit are spot on! It’s actually the first time I bought a piece of clothing by using a size guide and measuring my body. And Given that my hips are the largest part on my body I picked the size based off my hip measurement. Turns out I was in between sizes so I went for the larger size, which is a 10. I probably could have gotten the smaller size (8) and it would have worked too. I’m happy with the 10 though and love the way it fits.
Here is the measurement chart I used to buy this piece.
When I pulled it out of the box I did initially think “this thing looks huge!” However, it fit perfectly and didn’t look that big on my body 🙂 The proportions on this jumpsuit are perfect. There is enough room in the torso so the legs don’t ride up making it look “uncomfortable” so to speak. Additionally, the adjustable waist line makes it perfect for all body shapes. You can tie the belt as tight or loose as you would like.
Caring for this piece is super easy too. It’s made from Japanese GoWeave material which is wrinkle resistance, drapey, breathable and easily packable. In addition, it is machine washable. This really is a dream fabric! Simply wash it and hang it to dry.
So what do you think? Are you in love yet? I can’t wait to wear this around town all summer and even to work. Yes, I’m wearing this to work. I work in an extremely conservative environment so get ready for a post about that and how I style it. Now on to the fun part…pictures! Check out how I styled my Everlane Jumpsuit
