Fashion Details:
While office dress trends have changed overall, my personal office dress style has changed too. In my closet I have a lot of perfectly tailored dresses that are pristine and polished. And while I still love wearing those dresses I have made room for less formal dresses. These dresses are generously cut and flow nicely. Part of the reason I’m ushering in this new style is my body has changed. I’ve had two kids and things have shifted. In addition dress codes have loosened a bit too. It’s more acceptable to wear a flowy midi dress in the office now. And I love that you can still dress it up with the right shoes and accessories.
One challenge I have with dresses is the cost. Like everything in the world, the cost of a dress has increased recently. Something that was $150 a couple years ago is now $300. It’s a bit ridiculous if you ask me and I’m tired of paying that much for a dress. I firmly believe that a beautiful, office-appropriate dress should cost right around $100, give or take a little. Therefore, $150 is a good high price point for dresses.
