If you have been following along for a while, you know that back in the day I worked at the Gap. I started in high school and took that job well into my 20’s. I loved that job with all my heart. Working with the clothes everyday brought me so much joy! I loved styling outfits and folding the stacks into perfect piles. The denim wall was one of my favorites. I would spend hours folding it and then guard it with my life so no one messed it up.
After my 12 year career there my love for the Gap started to fade a bit. While I love their stuff still, I feel that we are starting to grow apart. Their denim started to miss the mark and I turned to designer denim. While it cost more, I found the quality to be better and last longer than jeans from the Gap. I was a little sad as we officially broke up 🙁
Like all relationships, a new brand has come around and stole my heart….Everlane! I’ve loved them for a while now. Their brand is simple and to the point. They are focused on taking an ethical approach to clothing, designing quality pieces that will stand the test of time and are committed to radical transparency, which is my favorite part. Their prices are affordable and they list the entire cost to make the item along with the markup. It’s so refreshing to see a brand do this and not rip you off!
I’ve decided that Everlane is my new adult Gap and I’m in love again! Their clothes are simple yet classic. They are true wardrobe staples that can be worn over and over again. I attended their Denim Counter Pop Up in Chicago earlier this month. At the pop up I was able to try on a bunch of their denim and I even got to take home a pair of their Authentic Stretch Denim. Once I put these on I knew I would never take them off…they are amazing!!!!
Right now Everlane is primarily an online retailer. They have two brick and mortar locations in San Francisco and New York. So I typically order a bunch of stuff online, try it on for size and return what does not fit. With the Pop-Up I was able to touch and feel all the denim and get a first hand look at the fit and style of each pair. I also took notes so I could share those details with you. The Denim Counter was set up in an old bank and was a minimalists dream come true! So much style with just denim as the feature item.
So many pairs to try on, it was so hard to pick just one!
And how could I resist the shoes. I tried on The Day Glove and it was love at first fit! A comfy, durable flat that molds to your foot within seconds of putting it on. I ordered the Mauve pair immediately and wear them all around town!
So happy to get my hands on the Authentic Stretch Denim, I can’t get enough of them!
The Authentic Stretch High-Rise Skinny Regular Jean
This is my favorite pair of jeans and they are $50 right now! I actually have 3 pairs (black, dark blue wash and distressed mid-blue) I’m 5’9 and they hit right at my ankle, so if you are tall you will want to get the regular length. The denim is super soft and has the right amount of stretch that moves with your body. They stretch a little, but they don’t over stretch and get saggy in the rear end. They maintain their shape all day long. The high rise is the perfect rise, it keeps me feeling secure all day long. I sized up because I wanted a little more room around the waist, but they still fit like a glove.
The Authentic Stretch High-Rise Skinny Ankle Jean
The same great pair as the regular, but in an ankle length. They are also $50! This pair if perfect for the shorter gals. If you are 5’7 and under this pair will stop right at the ankle. I love the ankle length with a bootie or even a heel for date night!
Only $50!! Not your traditional pair of jeans, but a great trend that is growing on me. The denim is a bit thicker and doesn’t offer a ton of stretch, but it is durable. This pair of jeans will keep its shape all day long and throughout multiple wears. The best feature on these jeans is the distressed detail on the bottom of the leg. The leg opening is slightly flared and hits mid-calf. They are button fly jeans so prepare yourself for that. I would opt for the light blue wash as I think that is the best color for this pair of denim. Pair them with the day heel and head out to brunch!
Right now these are $50! I would call these your true Mom Jean. They are a more relaxed fit, with the pockets placed higher on the rear end to provide you with a lifted look. I personally haven’t tried this pair yet, however the reviews are fabulous for women with curves.
$50 Denim! A true straight jean with a cuffed leg. These would look great with a loafer or the Day Glove. I haven’t tried this fit yet and I’m not 100% sure I would like it. I tend to like super tight jeans and these are the opposite.
Where are my bootcut gals at? These are now $50! They are slightly cropped with the signature cheeky fit. Meaning the rear end pockets are placed perfect to lift your rear end. They are similar to the Kick Crop, but with a lift! The sunbleached blue is my favorite color for summer.
The Authentic Stretch Mid-Rise Skinny Regular Jean
These jeans are actually only $48 right now! And close second to my favorite pair for me. Made of the same amazing stretch material as the High Rise pair. The reason I passed on these is because I tend to buy high rise pants because they feel more secure. This mid-rise though is also secure on your body. It doesn’t gap in the back, it stays flush on your body. Tall gals, get the regular length and they will hit right at the ankle. I ended up passing on this pair because the rise hit right in the middle of my stomach and I felt cut off in them. These run true to size and there is no need to size up given the mid rise.

The Authentic Stretch High-Rise Cigarette Regular Jean
You can currently get these for $39 with limited sizing available! I can’t get enough of the authentic stretch material. I’m not sure how they created it, but it’s life changing. The cigarette jean offers a slightly wider leg opening, think more straight leg then skinny. The style is more Audrey Hepburn like. The high rise style is great as it keeps everything in and secure all day long! I would suggest the taller gals get the regular and they will hit at a great ankle length.
The Authentic Stretch High-Rise Cigarette Ankle Jean
This pair is on $39 right now with limited sizing available. The ankle length on this pair of jeans is actually a great fit on a taller gal. I love the look of a traditional cigarette pant with a high heel (like this one or this one). It truly elongates the leg and makes you look taller and thinner. The ankle pair will look great on any girl at any height!
