Fashion Details:
It’s the end of the month, which means it’s time for my favorite series, Currently Loving! If you’re new to the blog this is where I share the items or trends that I’m currently loving. It’s the item that I’m constantly gravitating to in stores or searching for online. This month it’s the wrap, poncho or large scarf…you can call it many things. I’m featuring all must have capes for fall.
The cape is one of my favorite items right because it’s finally turning chilly out and there are so many options out there. I have multiple use for the cape, first being for work. I live in my cape in the colder months at work. It’s the one clothing item that I keep at my desk and throw on when I’m chilly. You guys know how cold it gets in the office. Having something stylish to thrown on is a good idea. All the gals in my office have one, it’s the equivalent to the vest for men.
Wearing the cape as my coat is also a trend I love. I try to hold out and not wear a full blown coat until October 1st every year. It’s a weird thing I started years ago to prove that I can handle the changing of the seasons. So wearing a cape instead of a coat fits my made up rule 🙂 The wrap adds an extra layer that can be easily taken on or off to adjust to the temperature. I have about a 2 degree variance in my hot and cold preference so taking layers on and off is necessary all day long.
I also love that you can style the wrap so many different ways. You can belt it, let it hang, wrap it up on your shoulders or even wear it as a blanket for desperate times. The versatility of the cape will make it a true staple of your fall wardrobe.

You can’t get more classic that black and cream houndstooth. I about died when I saw this wrap whole researching for this post, Needless to say its on its way to my house right now! It’s a timeless pattern and one that can be worn for work, weekend or evenings. Pair it with all black, a pointy toe heel or flat and wrap this around for extra warmth.
You had me at reversible! Nothing better than getting two for the price of one. This wrap packs all the style in two different colors. Wear the lavender side with a taupe pair of booties and wear the camel color side with black loafers.
The cape style jacket is classic and very British. I wish we had more of these in the. When I see one I have to take note as they don’t pop up that often and are a classic piece for your wardrobe.
The price point on this poncho is perfect. If you are on the fence about the poncho trend (even though it’s here to stay) this is a great starter poncho. When I’m first getting into a new fashion item I like to buy budget friendly one to test the waters with. I also like to buy a lot of the same thing, so this price point is perfect for that.
This is the cape that started it for me! I bought this to keep at work, in the black and grey combo, for cold days in the office. The trend caught on and all the gals in the office have one now. It perfect to drape over you while at your desk or running around the office.
This wrap is slightly shorter than most and offers more of a sweater look verse long cape. You can easily wear this one under a jacket and it won’t hang out the bottom. It comes in grey, black and camel, I love the camel color.
Sick of plaid? Opt for a bold pattern instead. This wrap is a great alternative to plaid and a good opportunity to add a little fun to your wardrobe. Coming in under $30 makes this wrap budget friendly as well.
Obviously I love this cape, its featured in my post. Two grey sides and double the plaid, its amazing! I prefer the darker grey side, but the lighter grey is nice too. Neutrals are so in this fall.
