If you’ve been following me on Instagram you will know that this month is all about self care for me! Being quarantined for almost a month now has allowed me to really slow down and focus on my family and my self care routine. And part of my self care routine includes the best pajamas in the world!
I recently wrote about my favorite loungewear (you can read the full post here), which I’m wearing during the day. But night time comfort is equally as important. Another important criteria for night time is matching. I have to have full matching pajamas. There are no exceptions to this rule.
I cannot wear a random t-shirt and pants. My pajamas have to be matching. I also prefer them to be a dark color. This is going to sound crazy, but I want to look put together in case I need to leave quickly in the middle of the night for an emergency. I know it’s crazy, but in my defense I live in a condo with 200+ other people, so you never know what is going to happen.
Pajama Criteria
So my criteria for the best pj sets consisted of three things.
- Fully matching
- Dark colors (black preferred)
- Cozy
Pretty simple, but actually not that easy to find. I’ve been searching for years. However it took a national pandemic, thanks COVID-19, to find them. And gosh was I excited when they arrived. I found the best pj sets out there.
My new pajamas come highly recommended from none other than Mike. Mike has worn Tommy John pajamas for years and he is a HUGE fan. When they came out with a full women’s line years ago he insisted I get a pair. I resisted for years and finally tried them the other week. Let me tell you, I was missing out for years!
These pajamas are like a soft cloud. They are smooth to the touch and feel soft and cozy on your skin. They aren’t overly heavy, which is great for sleeping. I don’t sweat or feel cold in them at night. And I love that they are slightly fitted and not oversized or boxy. I took a medium in all the pieces I purchased, which is a 6-8 and my typical size.
I also don’t mind staying in these a little bit longer in the morning. Typically I get up and dressed first thing in thing in the morning. With my Tommy John pajamas I don’t mind lingering a little longer in them. They are comfortable and I can easily do my full morning routine with them on. They are also great for crawling on the ground with Lizzie.
I’m so glad I finally treated myself to the most luxurious and best pj sets I’ve ever had in my life. I splurged and bought two different pairs and I’m so happy I did. I can alternate the pajamas and have comfort all the time. I’m living my best pandemic life right now!
Tommy John Pajama Set
This is the Tommy John Pajama Set, it’s a traditional matching pajama set. I love that the top and bottom have a soft pink trim on them. It makes it very luxurious and sophisticated. I feel like I’m ruling the world in these pajamas, while sleeping all night. I can’t get enough of this pajama set.
Second Skin Pajama Set
The name of this set is true, it truly is like a second skin. They are fitted, but not tight and feel like air on your skin. You hardly even know you are wearing pajamas. The ribbed detail allows this pajama set to keep their shape. With this set I’m also wearing the lounge tank, as I like an extra layer at night. The extra layer also gives me options if I am running hot at night.
I swear this pajama set might become my new everyday loungewear, it’s that comfortable!
