Best Going Out Tops

Are you ready to make a statement on your next night out? Look no further than the perfect going out tops to elevate your style game. I’m a mom of two small kids that’s has a classic style and recently started going out again.  Don’t get any crazy ideas though, my going out starts at 6pm and typically ends at 9pm and typically includes dinner and drinks.  So, it’s a tame night and sometimes I take the kids with me.  Even though I’m a mom I still want to look cute and dressed up.

Going Out Top Trends

We live in an era where anything goes for clothes.  You can wear a t-shirt out if you want.  I personally like to still get dressed up looking classic and polished.  Some of the current trend in going out tops include:

• Sequins – you can never go wrong with sequins, never!  Whether the whole top is sequins or there is a fine detail with them, they are ideal for a going out top.
• Cutouts – I can’t believe I’m saying this, but showing a little skin in a modest way is ok!
• Statement Sleeves – Long live the puff sleeve, they are the perfect detail to make your going out top look powerful.
• Bold Colors – I love a black top, but having a jewel toned top or a bold floral print is a great top to rock when going out.

Wearing vs. Styling

It’s easy to throw on a top and call it day, but styling it is half the fun and a great way to elevate your look. You should consider your jewelry, shoes and purse to be just as important as your top and pants.  Here are a few options for styling your going out top.

I like to make a statement with my jewelry, specifically my earrings.  I am obsessed with these pearl hoop earrings.  They are classic, yet on trend and create a true statement piece.  I also wear my everyday pieces like my Michele Watch, David Yurman Bracelet and Mejuir Stacking Rings.

Shoes

I’m always wearing heels when going out.  I prefer a block heel right now as they provide comfort and stability.  I’m wearing this black suede pair now that it’s fall.  However this rattan pair is so cute for spring and summer.

Purse

I never use my day time purse at night, never.  The evening bag is something that is classic, timeless and will never go out of style.  Trends I love right now include smaller bags, with chain link handles that can be tucked away if needed.
