HELLO Spring! Warm weather has finally arrived in Chicago and it’s glorious! Over the weekend we got out and explored a neighborhood in Chicago. That is what I love about Chicago, each neighborhood is unique and has it’s own little charm. We ventured out to Fulton Market, which is a super hot neighborhood west of the city center. Fun fact, I actually lived there (and bought my first condo) before it was the cool place to live. For once I was ahead of my time. I actually did a whole Instagram story on it. Be sure to follow me on Instagram too for more day-to-day content.
In today’s post I’m sharing my latest Amazon finds. Once I discovered how great their clothes were I got hooked. Head over to my Amazon Store, found here to see all my latest picks. I update it regularly so bookmark it and check it out often.
If you didn’t catch my first Amazon try on post you will want to do that. It’s a comprehensive post where I teach you how to easily shop for clothes on Amazon as well as breakdown the exclusive Amazon brands and what they offer. You can find the full post here. Fun fact about that post…I raved about an $18 sweater and you guys raved about it as well. It was one of the top items you guys purchased in March!
Daily Ritual
In today’s post I am sharing my favorite finds from the exclusive Amazon brand Daily Ritual. Daily Ritual is a great brand for everyday clothes like dresses, tops and bottoms. They have classic styles in neutral colors and styles. In other words, think beige, black and grey heaven! The brand is eligible for Prime so you can get anything in two days. I also love the brand because they allow you to shop by style and by feel.
One reason I still go to the store to shop is to touch the clothes. I think it’s so important to be able to feel the fabric of each item. You can find the cutest shirt, but if its made with a stiff cotton, it’s not going to be a great shirt. Soft fabrics like knits and jersey material are my favorite. They also have a great selection of supima cotton, which is the softest cotton ever!
So let me show you some of my favorite Daily Ritual items that are on the top of my must have list right now.
Favorite Daily Ritual Items
Daily Ritual Open Front Cardigan
For the most part I shop for my work wear at MM LaFleur (you can see a post here and here on the brand and clothes), but I came across this belted cardigan and knew it would be a classic piece. It’s a soft neutral color which is perfect to wear year-round. My office is always freezing so this cardigan is perfect to wear as my outfit or throw on when I’m cold.
Speaking of freezing offices, do you guys have a desk sweater? I keep a cape at my desk, but this sweater is another option to keep at your desk. I actually wrote a full post about the office essentials for women, you can check it out here.
Let’s get back to the sweater now. I love wearing this sweater open with the belt tied up in the back. However you can wear it belted and tie the belt to the side. The sweater is longer, which is perfect to pair with a tighter skinny ankle pant. The slight bell sleeve on the sweater makes it not as boring as a regular cardigan.
In terms of sizing I went with a small because I wanted it tighter on my shoulders. Going with this size meant that belting it would be difficult, but my preference is to wear the cardigan open. If I was going to belt it I would have taken a medium. Sizing is such a personal thing and also confusing with different brands. So I try to be as descriptive as possible for you guys.
Daily Ritual Military Inspired Jacket
Bring on the green jackets! I am obsessed with green jackets and always have been. I always have at least one green jacket for spring, and this year I might have three. Yes three! The first one, my most treasured, is super old and has been all around the world with me. I just can’t get rid of it. Not only is it cute, it has sentimental value too.
This year I spotted this gem on Amazon and added it to my cart out of curiosity. Well, it turns out to be a classic green jacket and because it is under $40 I just had to keep it. It’s shorter, which is usually not my style because shorter jackets tend to be more boxy and look funny on me because of my long legs. This jacket has an adjustable waist line though and can be sinched in to create a more defined waist.
The details on this jacket are spot on! With zippers, pockets and slight distressing around the collar it has depth and doesn’t look flat. The material is a little thicker and feels stiff right out of the box. After wearing it for a few minutes it loosened up and felt great. It’s the perfect jacket for running errands.
Yes, an errand running jacket. You all do this too, you find one piece of clothing and say it’s perfect for a very specific task. It’s what women do, right? I have a bunch of tops that are perfect for one specific task, like this top is great for running to Target quickly. 🙂 The jacket probably is good for more than running errands, however I’m running errands in this gem!
Daily Ritual Cutout Sweatshirt
Everyone needs a cozy spring sweatshirt and this cutout sweatshirt is perfect. The materials is super cozy and fits like a glove. It’s a great sweatshirt to wear to and from the gym. But it’s also adorable to wear when not working out. I’ve been living in cozy tops and sweatshirts all winter due to the extreme low temps in Chicago. This sweatshirt is lighter weight and allows me to transition into spring when wearing my favorite style.
I love the cut out detail on the side. It is a true cut out and not a slit. I find that side slit tops can look small when the slit is pulling to cover your hips. With an actual cut out you don’t have to worry about the top looking too small because the cutout is exaggerated. The length on the sweatshirt is ideal for pairing it with leggings. It covers the rear end nicely without being too long.
In terms of sizing I am wearing a medium and feel that it fits exactly how a sweatshirt should. It’s also a steal coming in at $28!
Luna Coalition Tie Front Top
So I know I said this was a post about Daily Ritual, but I had to throw in this Luna top too because it’s so adorable. If you didn’t know tie front tops are all the rage right now. While they look super cute on everyone I feel like they look a bit odd on me. Some of them are just too short and don’t hit me in the right spot. I’m still working off some baby weight so I’m more comfortable with my stomach covered.
This tie front top is longer and the actual tie is extended off the shirt. Most tie front tops use the actual material from the top to create the tie, making the shirt shorter. This top has extra material to create the tie to give you same look. It’s crafted perfectly and allows people who want to cover up their stomach the ability to wear the tie front top trend.
For sizing I took a medium, which is my normal size. It’s the perfect “cute top” to pair with jeans. I’ve been wearing this top on the weekend and pairing it with a green vest or a green military inspired jacket. You can shop the full look below.
