Hello Ladies!!! Spring has sprung in Chicago and it has added an extra skip to my step. The tulips are in full bloom on Michigan Ave and it has me wanting to wear midi dresses. The midi dress is ideal for spring as the length covers bare legs and still keeps you warm. The midi dress is a fast favorite of mine, as well as a timeless classic. Years ago, I’m talking when I was in grade school, my mom called it a tea-length dress. In fact, she called everything a tea-length dress on me because I was so tall and everything hit me mid calf. I didn’t know it was technically a midi dress. Who knew I was so fashion forward back them?
The Midi Dress
The midi dress is “THE” dress of the Spring and Summer. It’s the spunkier cousin to the maxi dress that lets you show a little leg. It’s also the sophisticated friend to the mini dress that lets you be more reserved. The midi dress exudes sophistication and is an essential dress for any occasion. Sadly the exact dress I am wearing in this post is sold out. I rarely post items that are sold out, but I found a similar dress here and here that are equally as fabulous. I’ve also linked a bunch of other midi dresses that are equally as beautiful.
Where to Wear this Must Have Midi Dress
Work
The ideal dress for the office is the midi! It’s fashion forward while still looking professional. And the length is perfect for a meeting as it falls below the knee. In the office I pair the midi with a sleek high heel in a nude tone or cognac brown color.
Brunch
Brunch with the girls (or your man) is a great time to break out the midi. You can dress it down a bit with a flat sandal and your best tote bag so you’re set for shopping afterwards too.
Wedding or Baby Shower
Showers to celebrate friends are always fun. Why not grab a beautiful floral dress to celebrate in. Pair it with a fun peep toe shoe and give yourself an excuse to get a fresh pedicure. I know I’m always looking for an excuse.
The midi dress can really take you anywhere and is a true closet staple. Plus, with the feminine floral design it lets you feel all dolled up even if you pair it with flip flops. The midi dress will be in heavy rotation this Spring and Summer for me.
